Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 15 May 2025  ·  Effective: 15 May 2025

Please read these terms carefully before submitting a watch for service at Crownworks. By using our website or leaving a timepiece in our care, you agree to the terms described below.

1. Definitions

Throughout these terms, the following words carry the meanings set out here:

  • "Crownworks", "we", "us", "our" — the workshop operated at 305 Silom Road, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500, Thailand.
  • "Client", "you", "your" — any person who contacts, visits, or uses the services of Crownworks.
  • "Services" — the watch care, repair, and restoration work offered by Crownworks as described on the website.
  • "Timepiece" — any watch or clock submitted to Crownworks for inspection, cleaning, service, or restoration.
  • "Intake" — the formal receipt of a timepiece by Crownworks, marked by completion of a service order.
  • "Agreement" — the service arrangement formed when a service order is accepted, governed by these terms.

2. Acceptance of Terms

These terms form a binding agreement between you and Crownworks when any of the following occurs:

  • You submit an enquiry through our website contact form.
  • You leave a timepiece at the workshop for any service.
  • You confirm a service order by telephone, email, or in person.

Our services are available to individuals aged 18 years and over, or to persons who have the legal capacity to enter into a contract in their jurisdiction. By engaging Crownworks you confirm that you are the owner of the timepiece submitted, or that you have the owner's authorisation to arrange the service.

3. Service Description

Crownworks offers three workshop services:

  • Welcome Check & Cleaning (฿3,800) — A gentle external clean and condition review, with a verbal account of observations and simple everyday care guidance.
  • Service & Polish Package (฿15,500) — A movement service and case/bracelet refinishing for well-used daily watches.
  • Bespoke Restoration Commission (from ฿34,000) — A made-to-measure restoration project, planned together with the client from first consultation through final collection.

Services are carried out at the Bangkok workshop. Remote intake may be arranged by prior agreement. All work is subject to the workshop's assessment of the timepiece's condition and the availability of required parts.

4. Client Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information about the timepiece's history, known faults, and any previous repairs.
  • Disclose any information that may affect safe handling of the timepiece or the suitability of a particular service.
  • Collect or arrange collection of the timepiece within the agreed timeframe following notification of completion.
  • Refrain from misrepresenting ownership or the condition of the watch at intake.
  • Settle any agreed payment in full prior to or at the time of collection.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on the Crownworks website — including text, photographs, service descriptions, and design — is the property of Crownworks or its licensors. You may view and download content for personal, non-commercial reference only.

Nothing in these terms grants you any licence to reproduce, adapt, or redistribute Crownworks content for any commercial purpose without prior written agreement.

6. Payment Terms

  • Prices are quoted in Thai Baht (THB) and are inclusive of standard workshop labour unless otherwise specified.
  • A service quotation is valid for 14 days from the date of issue. Quotations are subject to change if the watch's condition differs from initial assessment.
  • Payment in full is due on collection of the timepiece. Payment may be made by cash or bank transfer as agreed at intake.
  • For Bespoke Restoration Commissions, a deposit of 30% of the estimated fee is payable at the time the commission is confirmed. The balance is due on collection.
  • Where a service reveals unexpected additional work, the client will be notified and asked to confirm before work proceeds. No additional charges are applied without prior consent.

Uncollected timepieces: Watches not collected within 90 days of notification of completion may incur a modest storage charge. Crownworks will make reasonable efforts to contact the client before any such charge is applied.

7. Workshop Terms

  • All timepieces are handled with care. Crownworks takes reasonable precautions against loss or damage while a watch is in the workshop's custody.
  • Completion estimates are provided in good faith but are not contractual guarantees. Service timelines may vary with parts availability or the condition of the movement.
  • Crownworks reserves the right to decline a service if the watch is found to be in a condition unsuitable for safe repair, or where the requested work falls outside the workshop's scope.
  • Parts used in services are sourced from reputable suppliers. Where original manufacturer parts are unavailable, the client will be informed and alternative options discussed before work proceeds.
  • Photographs may be taken of timepieces at intake and during service for internal records. These are not shared externally without your consent.

8. Disclaimers

Crownworks provides its services and website information on an "as available" basis. While every effort is made to ensure accuracy:

  • Workshop service descriptions on the website are for general guidance only and do not constitute a binding quotation until confirmed in writing.
  • Crownworks cannot guarantee the long-term performance of repaired timepieces, as outcome depends on factors including the age and condition of components and the client's subsequent care and use.
  • The website may reference third-party services or information for convenience. Crownworks is not responsible for the content or accuracy of external sources.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Thai law:

  • Crownworks' liability to a client in connection with any service shall not exceed the fee paid for that service.
  • Crownworks is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of enjoyment or sentimental harm, arising from a delay or fault in the service.
  • In the event of accidental damage to a timepiece while in the workshop's care, Crownworks will discuss a fair resolution with the client in good faith.
  • Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Thai consumer protection law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold Crownworks harmless from any claim, cost, or liability arising from inaccurate information you provide at intake, or from your use of the website in a manner inconsistent with these terms.

11. Termination of Service

Either party may withdraw from a service agreement before work has commenced, without penalty. Once work has begun:

  • The client may request that work stops. In this case, a reasonable charge for work completed to that point will apply.
  • Crownworks may suspend or decline to continue work if information provided at intake is found to be materially inaccurate, or if safe continuation is not possible.
  • On termination, the timepiece will be returned to the client in its current condition upon payment of any applicable charges.

12. Dispute Resolution

If a concern arises about a service, we ask that you contact the workshop directly in the first instance so that we can discuss the matter openly and work toward a resolution.

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be referred to the competent courts of Bangkok, Thailand.

For consumer-related concerns, the Thai Consumer Protection Board may also be a resource.

13. General Provisions

  • Entire agreement: These terms, together with any written service order, form the complete agreement between you and Crownworks for the relevant service.
  • Severability: If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
  • Waiver: Crownworks' failure to enforce any term on a particular occasion does not waive the right to enforce it on another occasion.
  • Assignment: You may not transfer your rights under a service agreement without Crownworks' consent. Crownworks may transfer rights with reasonable notice.
  • Notices: Formal notices should be sent by email to [email protected] or by post to the workshop address.

14. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Where changes are material, notice will be posted on the website. The current version applies to all service arrangements made after its effective date. The effective date is shown at the top of this page.
